Change in Focus
Hello and thank you for visiting our news feed. We are glad you’re here! We honor each person’s individual survivor experience and, as such, we want to announce how we have changed the way we work. The work we have done in the past focused on local, regional, and state level collaborations with survivors. Through direct referrals from past collaborators, we now support project-leaders who guide survivor-centered efforts. We do so without any mandates to work within existing #suicideprevention industry circles. In fact, we prioritize survivor-led efforts which work within their own area of interest. Some of these researchers are interested in US prison reform, transnational adoptee rights, and survivor-focused legislation advocacy.
For those who’ve come to this site looking for collaborative opportunities, we advise looking through The Survivor Research Framework, Chicago Beyond, and Wildflower Alliance. These three, and more, are examples of organizations that focus on population-specific person-first work. For those new to organizing and advocacy, the Beautiful Trouble card deck is a fun and effective way to learn how to get work done without sacrificing principles.
Thank you for your interest in survivorship. We appreciate you!
